| Description: | This auction is for a group of Five Circa 1928 Original Snapshot Photos of Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Athletics Players including HOF Red Faber at Old Comiskey Park. All photos appear to be taken from the same role of film based on their backs and are in great VG/EX to EX Condition overall. The players were sleeved and identified from a previous owner as from 1924 but we believe a couple of the players were misidentified and the group most likely was from a 1928 game. The players to the best of our ability are from the upper left as follows: (1) Walter French (previously identified as HOF Al Simmons but we do not agree), (2) Possibly Ed Walsh Jr (previously identified as Hall of Fame Ed Walsh), (3) Red Faber HOF, (4) Jimmy Dykes and (5) Bibb Falk (previously unknown from prior owner). The only year where Bibb Falk and Walter French would be on their respective teams was 1928 and that is the year we believe these were taken. |
