 Lot # 42 - 1907 Grignon Postcard - Mordecai Brown HOF - SGC 10
Description: This auction is for a tough 1907 Grignon Postcard of the Chicago Cubs Hall Of Fame Pitcher - Mordecai "Three Fingers" Brown. Mordecai had a farming accident that took off parts of two of his fingers on his pitching hand. He turned that accident into an advantage developing a nasty curve on his way to Cooperstown. This rare postcard is in nice collectible condition being with outstanding color and a postally used back with a stamp affixed. The 1907 postcards were the first year that the back was split for addressing and correspondence and as you will commonly see, this postcard has been written on the front which was the norm prior to 1907. It has been professionally graded by Sportscard Guaranty an SGC 10 or POOR 1.
