Description: | This auction is for a circa 1910s or 1920s postcard depicting the Red Sox team taking batting practice before a game. About 10 or 15 years ago, this postcard was selling for hundreds of dollars when the player batting was rumored to be Babe Ruth. When one of the postcards became available with a 1912 postmark on the back, that killed the rumor. Still a nice image possibly of Speaker or another Red Sox lefty that was produced over a period of years. It does have nice color and eye appeal but light to moderate horizontal creasing on the front and back. |
