| Description: | This auction is for a 1909-16 Max Stein Postcard PC758 of the Chicago White Sox Shortstop - Buck Weaver. Buck was a star Shortstop and Third Baseman with a good combination of power and speed but is best known for being one of the 8 Black Sox players to participate in throwing the 1919 World Series and was banished from baseball after the 1920 season. This postcard is in very nice condition with a nice photo collage on the front and some unusual promotion on the back in red for what appears to be the Michigan City Indiana Fair from either 1912 or 1913. The dating is based on when the "Flying Boats" or fixed-wing seaplanes were first launched and appeared across the country in county and state fairs. The postcard has been professionally graded by Sportscard Guaranty an SGC 30 or GOOD 2 with far superior eye appeal. |
