Williams Baseball Game Card of the 19th Century Washington Star - William "Dummy" Hoy along with the Cincinnati Star First Baseman "Long John" Reilly . Dummy was extremely fast and still ranks 19th all-time in Career Stolen Bases with 596. William, nicknamed "Dummy" for being hearing impaired in a non-politically correct era is credited with being the reason for umpires to use hand signals on the bases for safe and out calls. The E.R. Williams baseball game was designed like a deck of cards with baseball plays on each card. This card is titled "One Base Hit" and it is in great condition and has been professionally graded by Professional Sports Authenticator a PSA 8 or NM-MT. |
